About Sheridan
Founded in 1967, Sheridan has grown from a local college of 400 students to one of Ontario’s leading postsecondary institutions, educating approximately 26,000 students every year on three campuses in three Ontario cities — Oakville, Brampton and Mississauga.
An award-winning institution, Sheridan attracts students from across Canada and around the world. Sheridan’s 240,000+ alumni play a critical role in shaping the future of our society in the fields of arts, business, community service, health, technology, and the skilled trades.
The creator of the Oscar-winning animated film KPop Demon Hunters now holds a key to the city of Toronto, where she grew up. After taking part in a panel about the film's success at Departure Festival, Maggie Kang was surprised on stage by Mayor Olivia Chow. Kang did not speak after being handed the key, but posed for photos with Chow and Cindy Gouveia, the president of her alma mater, Sheridan College.
Mississauga resident and Sheridan's Cycling and Sustainable Transportation Officer Vicki Tran’s daily sustainable choices recently earned her $5,000. Tran was recently named the 2025 Live Net Zero Household Challenge’s national winner in the Our Daily Lives: Food & Stuff category, which aims to highlight residents who reduce food waste, repair and reuse items, eat more plant-based meals and share with their community.
