Sheridan’s value proposition to students is centred on facilitating applied experiences and readiness for the world of work. With a shift to remote learning and limited in-person activities since March 2020, the college has adapted with innovative changes to our programming and services.

In light of the promising developments around vaccine rollout and the government’s plan to offer every adult a vaccine by the end of the summer, Sheridan is actively planning for much more on-campus activity in the Fall 2021 term. Sheridan’s academic and student support teams are building additional flexibility into program and service offerings, and are preparing to welcome more students back into labs, studios, classrooms, learning commons and other campus spaces that make their learning experience so dynamic and enjoyable.

Recognizing that students and their families need to plan ahead, Sheridan will release the full list of program delivery modes for the Fall 2021 semester by the first week of June. This information will be posted to myOTR and communicated directly to new and returning students.

Sheridan’s teams are excited to be planning for a fall with more options for residence, more in-class, hands-on learning, and more on-campus community, wellness, research and co-curricular activities. Planning is also underway to explore flexible, hybrid learning options throughout the 2021/2022 academic year.

New and returning Sheridan students can expect a range of programming to support their academic success, career development and well-being. Sheridan’s signature Well Series includes highly interactive workshops and virtual events tailored for new students through the Start Well and Transition Well programs, as well as academic success supports embedded in first-year courses and virtual communities through Learn Well. These programs work together to help familiarize students with the key tools and services needed for their classes, allow them to get to know their new community, and guide them through key transitions during their studies and on to their careers with Work Well.

While a broader return to campus for Fall 2021 is anticipated, Sheridan will continue to take direction from public health units on precautions to limit the transmission of COVID-19 and safeguard the wellbeing of students and employees. Sheridan’s Facilities Management team has been tireless in their efforts to ensure the health and safety of all those who are required to be on campus including students, faculty, and staff. Sheridan will continue to make the required environmental adjustments to ensure labs, classrooms, and other spaces meet the public health guidelines pertaining to physical distancing and occupancy.
