Curious about what new bus shelters, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, street lights and other improvements will look like on Trafalgar Road? Thanks to Sheridan students, you can get a sneak peek.
Last year, more than 60 students in Sheridan’s Architectural Technology advanced diploma program collaborated with the Regional Municipality of Halton to create 3D models and renderings of four road widening locations in north Oakville. The top renderings of each location — Dundas Street, Wheat Boom Drive, Burnhamthorpe Road and 3444 Trafalgar Road — now appear on the Halton Region website, providing area residents with realistic images of what Phase 2 of the project will look like upon completion.
“By working together, we can leverage the knowledge and skills of both the academic and public sectors to address the complex challenges facing our built environment,” says program coordinator Adrian Bica. “This collaborative approach not only enriches the learning experience for students but also fosters a deeper sense of social responsibility and community engagement.”
