Lisa Baxter graduated cum lade with a Master’s in criminology and criminal justice from Griffith University in Australia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and political science from York University in Toronto.

Lisa spent over 15 years working with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ministry of Government Services, Emergency Management working as a security research analyst,  correctional officer, probation officer, court liaison officer, staff training instructor and harassment & discrimination investigator before coming to Sheridan in 2007. She has extensive experience in all aspects of the criminal justice system, including community corrections and police research.  She is currently a Professor for the Community and Justice Services program and is involved with criminal justice research.
