Sheridan Assessment Centres are committed to providing exceptional customer service and a barrier-free environment for applicants, current students, faculty and external clients. We offer proctoring for a range of tests/exams, including admission and placement assessments, academic upgrading, make-up testing and testing for students with academic accommodations.

Admissions testing for Sheridan applicants
If you are looking to book an admission test, such as an English Proficiency Assessment or a Mature Student/Equivalency Test (math, English or science), please double check your program availability on the program's page to ensure your program is still accepting applications.
English Proficiency Assessment
Some applicants are required to successfully complete an English language proficiency assessment to determine their eligibility to meet Sheridan’s admission requirements.
Mature Student/Equivalency Test (math, English or science)
If you don't meet the admission requirements for your specific programs, the Admissions Office may ask you to complete a mature student or equivalency test for math, English or science.
Booking a test
To book your test, please select one of the following campuses:
Information sessions
You are welcome to attend an information session before you write a Mature Student English Test (MSET) or an English Proficiency Assessment (EPA). The information sessions are offered virtually (any campus) and in-person at the Trafalgar Road Campus (Oakville).

View assessment results
English Proficiency Assessment or Mature Student/Equivalency Test
Your results will be available on your Sheridan Application Portal in approximately five business days. You can view your results when you log into your portal, beside your application status.

External proctoring
Upon request, Sheridan College Assessment Centre can act as a proctor for other postsecondary institutions or professional accreditation associations.
Information for institutions
- For external students writing assessments at Sheridan Assessment Centres, please send any electronic test materials to hmcac@sheridancollege.ca
- External exam proctoring is subject to a fee of $100 per exam.
Information for students
If you are a student from another school and would like to take your exam closer to home, you can book an exam at one of our Assessment Centres. We offer external proctoring services for paper based and online exams.
- The fee for each external exam is $100 and is required at the time of booking.

External proctoring appointments may not be available during Sheridan’s peak academic activity periods.

Testing for students with approved academic accommodations
The Assessment Centre provides in-person appointments for Sheridan students with approved academic accommodations through the Accessible Learning Office.
If you are a Sheridan applicant and need to complete an admissions test, please register with Accessible Learning before booking your test.
How to book an accommodated exam
1. Reserve your seat
Book your exam at least seven days in advance—walk-ins are not accepted. You can book at the location most convenient for you, depending on availability and approval from your instructor:
- Davis Campus Assessment Centre
- Hazel McCallion Campus Assessment Centre
- Trafalgar Campus Assessment Centre
2. Receive and forward the confirmation email
After booking, you’ll get an automated confirmation email with your exam details. Forward this email to your instructor.
3. Instructor's verification
Your instructor will verify the booking details and use the link in the email to complete the Exam Instructions Jotform. The exam will then be sent to the appropriate Assessment Centre. Apprenticeship Exemption Test
Sheridan is a Ministry-approved Apprenticeship Exemption Test (AET) centre, authorized through the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development (MLITSD), for both apprentices and non-apprentices.
The AET provides a chance for students who are learning a skilled trade to bypass in-class studies.

Test fees
With exception of the Apprenticeship Exemption Test and Apprenticeship Reportable Subject Test, all fees are to be paid at the Assessment Centre on the day of testing, before entering the exam room.
You will be required to make an online payment at the time of booking for make up tests, English Proficiency Assessments, Mature Student/Equivalency Tests and external tests.
Sheridan applicants who have been invited to complete more than one admissions test will only be required to pay one test fee (the test with the higher fee).

What to bring when you write your test
Valid photo identification
Valid photo ID must be presented to the Assessment Centre staff before testing begins. Acceptable forms of valid photo ID include your Sheridan onecard, a current driver’s licence, Ontario photo card, or passport.
Devices approved by Accessible Learning
You may bring devices approved by your Accessible Learning Advisor, e.g. noise cancelling headphones.
Water bottle
A water bottle with clear water is allowed during your exam.
For Apprenticeship Exemption Tests: Proof of prerequisites/documentation
If you're writing an Apprenticeship Exemption Test (AET), you'll be required to bring additional documentation to your exam. View AET requirements.
What is NOT permitted?
- Calculators and dictionaries
Calculators and dictionaries are NOT permitted (unless approved as an accommodation by Accessible Learning). If the use of these materials has been approved, the Assessment Centre will provide them to you. - Personal belongings
Cell phones, smart watches, wireless headsets, bluetooth enabled devices, electronic devices, notes, and other personal belongings are not allowed during the test. These items will need to be stored in the designated areas provided by the Assessment Centre staff. Make sure your cell phone is turned off. - Family members
To maintain a quiet environment, family members are not permitted to stay in the Assessment Centre during your exam.
