To be eligible for an apprenticeship program at Sheridan, you must be employed and sponsored by your employer.
We offer block release (full-time) and day release (part-time) training in apprenticeship programs, including:
All of Sheridan's apprenticeship programs take place in state-of-the-art facilities equipped with the most current industry-standard equipment. You'll put theory learned in the classroom into practice on machinery and equipment similar to what you'll use in the workplace.
You'll also enjoy lots of interaction with your instructors, who are all seasoned journeypersons with many years of industry experience. Our faculty know what it takes to succeed in the workplace, and how to pass on that knowledge to the next generation of tradespeople.
Sheridan's apprenticeship training programs have a reputation for excellence and outstanding hands-on instruction. Complete your in-school Ministry requirements through Sheridan and you'll be ready for a fulfilling career as a skilled, well-paid tradesperson or journeyperson.
Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to tackle all the challenges that a career as a skilled tradesperson has to offer.
Sheridan is a Ministry-approved Apprenticeship Exemption Test (AET) centre for both apprentices and non-apprentices. The AET provides a chance for students who are learning a skilled trade to bypass in-class studies if they score 70% or higher.
Creative, innovative learning is at the core of all Sheridan’s courses. Here are the courses you’ll take in this program.

The Apprenticeship Exemption Test (AET) provides a chance for students who are learning a skilled trade to bypass in-class studies.
In most cases, you need to score 70% or higher to pass the AET. If you score lower than 70%, you'll need to wait three months before you can try again (with some exceptions for certain exams).
Apprenticeship Exemption Tests are administered at the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga, through Sheridan's Assessment Centre.

Sheridan is a Ministry-approved Apprenticeship Exemption Test centre, authorized through the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development (MLITSD), for both apprentices and non-apprentices.
