CommUNITY vaccine clinic at Sheridan’s Davis Campus extended to March 5

The pop-up vaccine clinic at Sheridan’s Davis Campus in Brampton will run for two additional weeks beyond its original end date of February 19, offering local residents the opportunity to receive their vaccine until March 5. Sheridan is proud to collaborate with the Region of Peel Public Health, the Government of Ontario, Indus Community Services and Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS) to offer vaccinations to the surrounding community.

The walk-in only clinic will extend through February 23-26, and March 2-5, 2022. The clinic will offer the Pfizer vaccine to those 12 and up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and pediatric doses of the Pfizer vaccine to children ages 5-11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each clinic day. Families who wish to receive doses for individuals 12+ as well as pediatric doses are advised to arrive at the clinic around 4:00 p.m.

The clinic is located at the M-wing on the Davis Campus, at 7899 McLaughlin Road in Brampton. Approximately 300 doses will be available daily.

Individuals who received earlier doses of the COVID-19 vaccine outside of Ontario can register those doses before arriving at the clinic or bring their paper or digital proof of vaccination with them to the clinic.

Sheridan worked together with Region of Peel Public Health, Indus Community Services, Punjabi Community Health Services, the Latin-American COVID-19 Task Force and the Government of Ontario to run a series of vaccine clinics throughout summer 2021, which administered a total of over 35,000 doses. The clinic contributed to a significant uptake in vaccinations in the diverse L6Y region surrounding Sheridan’s Davis Campus in Brampton over the summer. Similar to last summer, this year’s pop-up CommUNITY clinic is designed to be welcoming and barrier-free, making vaccinations more accessible to the surrounding community within Peel – an area that has been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with our dedicated partners again to vaccinate even more members of our community in the fight against COVID-19.”

Community pop-up clinics have proven to be an effective way to reduce the barriers experienced by people living in COVID-19 hotspots and increase access to the vaccine. Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Peel Region Public Health have identified Sheridan’s Davis Campus as an ideal community hub to target the surrounding hot spot neighbourhoods, which are home to many essential workers, vulnerable and marginalized persons, and international students.
