Sheridan EDGE launches vibrant community coworking space in downtown Mississauga
EDGE, Sheridan College’s entrepreneurship hub, has launched a community coworking space in the heart of downtown Mississauga. Located in the college’s Hazel McCallion Campus, EDGE provides a collaborative and dynamic work environment designed to support and connect values-driven entrepreneurs and professionals.
“Joining EDGE has been a game changer for me. Not only do I have a productive and comfortable workspace, but I've also gained valuable connections and support from the entrepreneurial community here,” said Harsimran Kaur Garcha, Business Development Specialist at HDAX Therapeutics and EDGE’s first coworking member. “I'm looking forward to the accessing the resources and opportunities available at EDGE.”
As a campus-based incubator, EDGE offers members much more than physical workspace. Access to resources and support including student talent, mentorship, networking opportunities, and the college’s vibrant innovation community are some of the added perks of membership. Members can enjoy a bright, welcoming office space equipped with high-speed internet, hot desks, private meeting rooms with hybrid meeting tech and affordable locker rentals. The space also includes ergonomic chairs, portable whiteboards, office supplies, and a well-stocked kitchenette. Coworking members can book workshops and event space.
"EDGE is a community of values-driven entrepreneurs and professionals who want their work to contribute to creating a more equitable and sustainable society," said Renee Devereaux, Director of EDGE. "We're thrilled to offer this dynamic and collaborative workspace and connect people to the resources, talent and innovation that Sheridan has to offer.”
EDGE has been an incubator resource for many successful social purpose ventures such as the Afro Caribbean Business Network, AccelerateHerFuture, Empowered4X, Jelly Social, Spotwork, Impact Learning and more. Its team is responsible for leading a robust calendar of learning opportunities and events.
“We believe entrepreneurship can be a powerful tool for creating meaningful change in our communities, society, and environment,” said Devereaux. “With this new coworking space, we’re excited to provide an environment where people and their ideas can thrive.”
EDGE is in a fully accessible building with features such as wheelchair access, low-slope ramps, power-assisted doors, elevators and accessible washrooms. The campus also offers easy access to food with a Tim Hortons and other food services on-site, and Square One mall within walking distance.
