Muthana Zouri joins Sheridan as Dean of the Pilon School of Business

Sheridan is delighted to welcome Muthana Zouri to the position of Dean of the Pilon School of Business (PSB).
Zouri has over 20 years of experience in the postsecondary sector, including roles with teaching and leadership experience at Humber and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Chang School. Most recently, he served as the Dean of the School of Information and Communications Technology, School of Business and the Department of Arts & Sciences at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
His roles have honed strength in strategic planning and operational effectiveness that deliver sustainable academic excellence, with a deliberate focus on equity and community values such as respect, integrity and accountability.
“I am genuinely excited about the contribution Muthana will make in advancing the strategic work underway in PSB but also more generally at Sheridan, as his background and experience resonate so well with our focus on transformative learning,” says Carol Altilia, Provost and Vice President, Academic at Sheridan.
Zouri’s scholarship, focused on managerial decision support systems, informs his insight and broad experience in the application of technologies in teaching and learning such as work-based and immersive environments. He is seasoned in cultivating industry engagement and partnerships for applied learning and research, including a lens on advancement.
Zouri has also worked on various projects with the Government of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Economic Development and the Government of Canada as well as many industry-leading organizations.
He brings a global orientation as a leader and academic, holding an MSc in Statistics from the University of Baghdad and a PhD in Computer Science from Toronto Metropolitan University. He will begin his tenure on Aug. 14, 2023.
