Aseel completed a Master of Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, Bachelor of Interior Design (Hons.) from Yorkville University, and Diploma in Arts and Crafts (Ceramic studio) from Sheridan College. Aseel has been a faculty member at Sheridan College since 2003 and began her full-time career at Sheridan in August 2018. Aseel also taught at the Academy of Design in Toronto. In her role as an instructor, she taught Principles of Drafting, Drafting-Residential spaces, Drafting and Detailing, Interior-Environment- Space Planning Basics, Interior environment- Residential Spaces, Anthropometrics and Ergonomics, Finishing and Sustainable Issues, Principles of Design and Home Staging, Auto CAD, and Design Theory. Before starting her design practice, Aseel worked in interior design firms in Toronto and San Francisco. Her projects have included work in healthcare, corporate, commercial, and residential areas. Aseel is passionate about the design field and belief in design as a unique tool to influence change, growth, and leave an impact in our community. Aseel’s thesis project explores the cultural shift in retail, focuses on improving the human social experience, and how interior designers play a role in reinventing the physical retail environment to impact human interactions.
