Madeleine Schumann is a Professor in the Early Childhood Education Program at Sheridan College. Madeleine graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Primary). After immigrating to Canada, Madeleine continued her education and completed her certification in Adult Education and Resource Teacher/Consultant diploma from Seneca College. Thereafter, she completed her Masters in Education from the University of Toronto (OISE).

Madeleine worked as a Registered Early Childhood Educator and Supervisor in not-for-profit child care environments, including the Sheridan College Child Care for over 20 years. Madeleine focussed on family involvement and supporting the children and families in the centres. As a supervisor, Madeleine enjoyed mentoring staff and students from various colleges. Education has always been part of Madeleine’s passion and working with children from all ages during her career has been a valuable learning experience.

Madeleine is passionate about supporting students and enjoys sharing her child care experiences with her students.
