Professor Davies has over 25 years of experience working with young children and their families in a wide variety of roles and is particularly interested in the intersection of the fields of early childhood education (ECE) and children’s mental health. She has worked extensively with children with special needs and their families and is passionate about supporting ECEs in their efforts to deliver truly inclusive services.

Professor Davies interests also include infant mental health and infant-toddler development. She considers herself fortunate to have been involved with services in the Peel community such as Peel Infant and Child Development Services, The Valley Infant Parent Program and the Peel Post-Partum Mood Disorder Program.

At Sheridan, Professor Davies is exploring new and creative ways to enhance the mental health and professional development of ECEs through the use of reflective practice, mindfulness and education about the science of self-regulation.
