Stephanie Samboo is an Associate Dean in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences who oversees the ESL program, and the English Communication and Literary curriculum. Stephanie started her career as a faculty member of Sheridan College in 2004 and has taught ESL, English Communication and Literature courses at Sheridan. She was the cross-college English Coordinator from 2010-2014 and was an elected member of the Sheridan Senate from 2012-2015. She has been a volunteer facilitator in the Sheridan Fundamentals of Teaching and Learning program offered to all part-time faculty, and was involved in the start-up of the Tutoring Centre at Sheridan in 2011.

Prior to Sheridan, Stephanie taught undergraduate linguistics courses at the Open University Program in the Singapore Institute of Management; and writing and ESL courses at the National Institute of Education in Singapore (now known as Nanyang Technological University).

She has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts (English Studies) from the National University of Singapore. She is also TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) certified, a CLPBT (Canadian Benchmarks Placement Test) assessor and became a certified ISW (Instructional Skills Workshop) facilitator in April 2013. She is currently pursuing her PhD in English on Intercultural Rhetoric at the University of Waterloo.

She has presented at several conferences such as TESL Ontario, TESL Toronto, TESL Hamilton and ISOTL.
