President & CEO, Bass Paper & Packaging, Ltd.

Before enrolling in Sheridan's Business School, Chris worked as a steel company labourer for two years. He entered college with no knowledge of business and no one in his family had a business background.  While at Sheridan, Chris developed an overview of business, as well as the skills and confidence to eventually run his own company. After graduating, Chris got a job with Bass Paper & Packaging Ltd. as the firm's first employee. Just several years later, he bought the company and never looked back. Achieving success as the owner of a multi-million dollar organization was a dream come true for Chris, who grew up in a blue collar environment and was the family's first postsecondary graduate.

Bass Paper & Packaging Ltd. is a single-source distributor of shipping, health and safety, janitorial, office, retail, food service, packaging machinery and material handling products. The Burlington-based company, which has long-standing relationships with many leading manufacturers and suppliers in the industry, has won a number of prestigious awards. Chris credits the College with changing his life and is never too busy to make time for Sheridan. Over the years, he has hired many Sheridan graduates and has returned to the College as a guest speaker in the Faculty of Business.

"Sheridan Business gave me the knowledge and the self-confidence to become successful. Without Sheridan Business, I would not be where I am today." – Chris Galante
