Formerly a music industry marketer, national sales training manager and a Professor at Sheridan’s Pilon School of Business, Scott ran his “UnAgency” for nearly a decade before deciding to focus his efforts solely on speaking at events for companies looking for guidance through the viral/social media and relationship marketing landscape. Scott’s clients have included a broad cross section of influential organizations such as PepsiCo, Adobe, Red Cross, Cirque du Soleil, Saks Fifth Avenue and Fidelity Investments.

Scott was named one of the top five social media influencers in the world on Forbes.com in 2012, and has over 177,000 Twitter followers. His first book, UnMarketing: Stop Marketing, Start Engaging, became a national bestseller before it was released, and earned the top spot on The Globe and Mail Business bestseller list.

Scott has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, USA Today, Entrepreneur Magazine, CNN.com, Inc.com and Fast Company. He was also recognized as one of “America’s 10 Marketing Gurus” by Business Review USA.

Scott is a coveted conference speaker, offering audiences his insights into viral, social and authentic marketing. Marketing buffs who can’t see Stratten on stage can hear his observations through he and his wife Alison’s popular podcast, UnMarketing or read about them in one of the six books they’ve written together.

“Sheridan’s Faculty of Business gave me the academic foundation and the relationships that would affect my entire life.” – Scott Stratten
