In Sheridan's General Arts and Science diploma program, you'll build on your critical thinking and communication skills as you learn to conduct applied research in the arts and sciences. Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:

  • English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U)

OR

Mature student status.

Applicant Selection

Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of their previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses).

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for this program may be advised individually regarding other related programs.

*Course duration for September starts is two academic years. Course duration for January starts is 16 months continuous.

English Proficiency

All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Sheridan’s English proficiency requirements.

Transfer Opportunities

As a graduate of Sheridan’s General Arts and Science diploma program, you’ll have the opportunity to transfer to one of our partner universities and apply transfer credits towards your degree (students need to meet the university’s admissions requirements).

Admission requirements may vary from university to university. Please also note that transfer agreements will refer to specific programs at a given university.

Your academic adviser will be able to guide you through this process and answer any questions you have.

Sheridan's Pilon School of Business

Students who graduate from the General Arts and Science diploma program with a minimum 3.0 GPA may be eligible to transfer into one of Sheridan's Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree programs. Students will be granted up to 24 credits (breadth electives) of the 120 credits required for a BBA undergraduate degree.

York University

General Arts and Science diploma grads can transfer to York University:

  • into any Bachelor-level program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science at York University
  • students will be granted a block of 45 transfer credits of the 120 credits required for a York undergraduate degree. Must have a cumulative program GPA of 3.0 (B or 70%).
