Relaxed performances

Theatre Sheridan now offers relaxed performances. Please refer to our season schedule for specific relaxed performance dates.

A relaxed performance is a performance where some elements have been adjusted to allow a wider audience the opportunity to attend the show. These adjustments could include:

  • Keeping the house lights on at a low setting.
  • Changing some lighting cues to be less visually stimulating.
  • Adjusting the level of loud noises in a performance.
  • Providing a pre-show introduction to the performance.
  • Relaxing our In/Out Policy to allow patrons more freedom to leave and re-enter the theatre as needed.

While relaxed performances were originally designed for people with disabilities, there are benefits for anyone who would like to attend, and all are welcome. The goal of a relaxed performance is to provide the same show content and experience, while the environment is more relaxed for the audience.
